I manage my farm of 19 hectares of which 11.5 are vineyards, situated in the municipalities of Castelnuovo del Garda and Sona, in the provence of Verona in the North-East of Italy. Vine varieties belong to Bardolino Doc and Custoza Doc.
In 2000 new grape varieties such as Corvina, Rondinella, Cabernet and Merlot were introduced. In 2002, the cellar was built and my dream became reality. During previous years, I attended a professional course in wine management. This training period lasted five years, and was vital in educating me how to understand techniques and strategies in order to consciously make the right choices for my project. That same year, I started producing two wines: BARDOLINO D.O.C. and BARDOLINO CHIARETTO D.O.C., as I strongly believe in the value of these products that typical and are entirely produced in our area. For this reason the preparation period of the vineyards is fundamental for low controlled yields (70-80ql per hectare).
Moreover, strong crop thinning led to interesting results during the harvest period. To obtain the best results in winemaking, attention must be focused on the development of the vineyard and it is for this reason.
