I cooperate closely with Attilio Pagli and Laura Zuddas, two oenologists and agronomist Federico Curtaz. Together we give particular importance to the different requirements and situations of every vintage. The topic phase is surely the harvest, when the best grape varieties must be selected and controlled, this phase can be repeated two or three times during the same harvest if deemed necessary.
In 2003 I created two new IGT products the first “I MISCHI 2003”, (only produced once) was an experiment which served to help produce “ETTORE”. “I MISCHI 2003” was the result of a selective choice of Bardolino, Cabernet, Merlot and a high percentage of Corvina (after 6-month aging in barriques), The second “ETTORE”, which takes the name from my real masterpiece, my son. “ETTORE” is the representative wine of my company.
In spring 2005, due to the variety of soil I had to work with, I planted two hectares of Corvina grapes with three different rootstocks. These new vineyards produce Corvina and are helping our studies to improve this unique variety.
The best wines are the result of meticulous work; they must reflect all the efforts made in the vineyard, throughout the year. This is the only way to understand the big difference that characterizes every vintage.
